The Pella Christian boys basketball team is headed in to the holiday break on a high note, picking up a 69-55 win last night over Ballard.

The Eagles led 17-11 after the first quarter, then exploded for a 26-point second quarter to build a 43-24 halftime lead. Coach Larry Hessing says that it was fun watching his guys perform at a high level.

“We played our best game of the season, there’s no doubt about that, and that’s pretty exciting. It really helps if you can put the ball in the hole a little bit, and I thought we had a good defensive game plan as well and the guys executed it. We had a great first half, and then played even in the second half.”

Jake Pringle led the Eagles with 14 points, Josh Van Gorp scored 12, all in the first half, and Jayden Huisman and Dan Jungling each chipped in nine.

Pella Christian’s boys finish the 2017 portion of their schedule with a record of 2-6.
