U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley has indicated he will continue to fully support a large-scale tax reform bill that’s being reconciled between the Senate and U.S. House.

Grassley tells KNIA/KRLS News he feels like projections from numerous economists that show the tax plan approved by the Senate would grow the country’s debt and deficit have been pessimistic.

Grassley also believes that Medicare and Social Security spending will not be impacted by the tax cuts and what happens to them will be unrelated to the tax bill, as he feels that President Trump will stand by a campaign promise to leave the programs untouched.

A vote on the final bill between the House and Senate is expected to be held within the next week.
