The Pella community has been rallying around a teenager in need of a service dog.

Kaelie De Heer is a student at Pella High School who has cerebral palsy, which has limited her mobility. Her mother Tina Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS News a dog would help Kaelie live a better life. De Heer is thankful for the support she has received so far.

They aim to raise $14,000 to match a scholarship to sponsor a dog through Domesti-PUPS, with Sunday as the deadline to raise the matching funds.
Donations can be made here until December 10th, and to give a donation after that date, contact Uitermarkt at kaeliesservicedog@gmail.com.
