The woman accused of killing a Monroe man at a truck stop in Iowa County in September will face further mental evaluation before court proceedings will be allowed to continue.
Court records show that Mariana T. Lesnic, 43, will undergo psychiatric testing after her court-appointed attorney recommended the evaluation. Lesnic moved to remove her court-appointed representation and looked to represent herself after pleading not guilty to first degree murder in relation to the death of 60-year-old Earnest Kummer.
According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office, Kummer was found deceased from gunshot wounds in his semi on Wednesday, September 6th. The incident is under investigation by the Iowa County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
