An after-school ministry in Pella is hoping to lend a helping hand to teens in need of assistance in the area.

Kristi Pingear and Tyler Weyers are among a group that operate 725 Ministries. They tell KNIA/KRLS News the purpose of the after-school gathering is to provide support in a variety of aspects of life for youth in the community that might lack support or resources at home.

“When we meet with these kids, just a lot of them have been through a lot of stuff and a lot of junk in their life,” Weyers says. “So we really try to work with them on some life skills, because they’ve never had that education at home or anywhere else.”

“As well, we really try to love on these kids and show them what it’s like to have someone in their life that loves them unconditionally.”

“One of our biggest goals is to let them know that God has a purpose for them and that they are significant, that they are loved, and that they have a purpose,” Pinegar adds.

Pinegar says the group is open to all teens in the Pella area, and meets on Thursdays after school. Contact Pingear for more information at their Facebook page. Hear more about 725 Ministries on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
