Thousands of dollars were raised for a variety of causes at the Pella/Pella Christian basketball games Tuesday night.

Dollars for Scholars raised $1700 in a pork dinner provided by the Pella Hy-Vee, meaning between the two Tulip City basketball games, over $3100 was collected for scholarships benefitting soon-to-be graduates at both schools.

During halftime of the boys game, Marion County Bank had students from each school raise funds in a basketball shooting challenge to be split between extracurricular activities at both Pella and Pella Christian. Three students hit half court shots worth $1000 apiece, and that is on top of a $4,650 donation from Marion County Bank from the December 8th basketball doubleheader. The 10-year grand total for this event is now over $94,000.
