The two-week holiday break comes to an end for the Knoxville Basketball Squads as the Panthers ring in the New Year by playing Albia. Knoxville already has wins over the Blue Demons in both boys and girls play earlier in the season. The boys began the season with a 70-62 win back in November and stand at 5-1 in the South Central Conference as the Panthers start the second loop through. For the Panthers to challenge for the conference title, Coach Jeff Larson has a list of things the guys must improve upon, starting with staying away from foul trouble. Another area is free throw shooting as the Panthers are fifth in the conference at just over 60%. The girls game preceeds the boys and for the Panthers, they also are at 5-1 in the South Central Conference. After closing out the pre-holiday portion of the schedule with four consecutive wins, Knoxville looks to carry that momentum into several very important conference games, where most of them are at home. You can hear the call on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com with Derek Cardwell and John Keitges at 6:15.
