The Knoxville Basketball Squads are back on the court tonight playing in the South Central Conference against Clarke. The boys completely dominated the Indians earlier in the season winning 91-50, but have hit a rough patch in recent games. The Panthers are on a three game losing streak and are coming off a loss to Albia last Friday where they were held to 14 second half points. Coach Jeff Larson tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he is looking for players who will step up in crucial situations. Larson adds they also need a few guys to take the pressure off of Patrick Crawford, who Larson says is being asked to do too much. Knoxville is 5-7 on the season and stand at 5-2 in the conference. The girls will try to get some mojo back after a disheartening loss to Creston on Tuesday. The Panthers also were held to a meager point total in the second half in the 12-point loss. Coach Jim Uitermarkt tells KNIA/KRLS Sports he feels confident Clarke presents his team with favorable match ups. The girls are 10-3 and sit at 6-1 in the conference. You can hear the call on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA and kniakrls.com with Derek Cardwell and John Keitges with the pre-game starting at 6:15.
