Knoxville got a sweep of Clarke last night in games heard live on AM 1320 and 95.3 KNIA. The girls used a 15-0 run to start the second half to get distance from the Indians and win 46-36. The Panthers started slowly only leading 19-13 at the half, but some adjustments at halftime allowed Knoxville to get a lead as high as 21 in the third quarter. Coach Jim Uitermarkt told KNIA/KRLS Sports his guards took advantage of driving lanes. Katie Keitges had 19 points for the Panthers who go to 11-3 on the season and 7-1 in the conference and are now just a game back of Chariton due to the Chargers losing to Albia. While it was not the 41 point bloodbath in game one, Knoxville still won the boys game by a comfortable margin of 74-56. The Panthers feasted on points in the paint as Patrick Crawford scored nearly all of his team high 16 points on lay ups. Ben Wallace also had a solid outing with 14 points. Knoxville is now 6-7 on the season and 6-2 in the South Central Conference. Both teams travel to Pella on Tuesday.
