The Marion County Food Coalition will hold their next meeting tomorrow at the Marion County Public Health Department from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

In November the coalition was established by local food stakeholders as a way to help fight food insecurity in Marion County. Larissa Van Donselaar with Marion County Public Health tells KNIA/KRLS News this meeting will go a little bit further to find out more ways area food stakeholders can collaborate. She says they will discuss healthy food options for food pantries as well. Van Donselaar says anyone who regularly goes to food pantries to receive food is also welcome to attend. Friday’s meeting is also open to anyone who is employed by a food pantry, volunteers who serve at a food pantry, is part of a school lunch or backpack program, or has a vested interest in food distribution throughout Marion County.
