The Pella Christian basketball teams both came back from Norwalk empty-handed last night, with the girls suffering a 46-37 setback and the boys falling 87-61 in a doubleheader heard live on 92.1 KRLS.

Playing without injured starters Mary Kate Bandstra and Morgan Fopma, the Eagles never led in the girls game. They fell behind 15-2, rallied back with two at 17-15, but were never closer than eight in the second half.

Isabella Baugh scored 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Pella Christian and Kaley Wilson scored 9 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the free throw line. The Eagles fall to 10-7 on the season and 4-7 in Little Hawkeye Conference play.

In the boys game, Norwalk drilled six first half three pointers in building a 14-point lead at intermission, and all-time Warrior leading scorer Luke Vaske poured in 27 points in the blowout.

Pella Christian placed two players in double figures as Jake Pringle scored 11 and Jayden Huisman added 10. The Eagles drop to 4-12 overall and 2-8 in the LHC.

Both the Pella Christian girls and boys will entertain Indianola Tuesday night on Eagle Lane.
