The PCM Mustang boys basketball team got out to an early lead and never let off the gas in a 75-42 victory over North Polk last night, the girls fell 71-50.

A 38-23 lead at halftime gave the Mustangs a lot of wiggle room, and Elijah Sperfslage led the team in scoring with 19 points. Jason Stafford also put in 11 and Derek Brown put in 10 each coming off the bench.

Lilli Baird hit four three pointers to score 22 points total to lead the Mustang girls, who couldn’t keep up with the #8 in 3A Comets. Regan Freland also scored 12 in the contest.

The boys improve to 8-1, the girls to 4-6, and both teams will start a busy week on Monday against Grandview Christian in their next contest.
