The Pella City Council will hold two public hearings at their meeting Tuesday to consider establishing an urban renewal area and an agreement for a new housing development at Bos Landen.

In order to establish the Southwest Urban Renewal Area, the council will have to approve a resolution setting the designated area, an ordinance to establish tax increment financing, a resolution accepting the approved agreements from the Pella School District and Marion County Board of Supervisors, and a resolution executing a development agreement with Bos Ridge, LLC. The council will also look to approve the second reading of an ordinance rezoning the land impacted in the deal from agriculture to residential.

The proposed development by Bos Ridge will allow up to 45 additional houses to be built in the designated area. The Pella City Council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the Public Safety Complex on Liberty Street.
