The Tulip City basketball teams will look to bounce back from a rough Friday night as they swap opponents in conference action in Pella tonight.

Pella’s boys and girls will welcome Norwalk, while the Eagles will host Indianola.

For the Little and Lady Dutch, they will look to return to the win column after each having long winning streaks snapped last Friday. Pella’s girls defeated Norwalk 59-46 on December 19th, while the boys fell 72-53. Boys Head Coach Derek Schulte tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they will have to play their best game to hang with the talented, high-scoring Warriors.

“Norwalk presents a ton of challenges, because of the two guards [Luke Vaske and Bowen Boren], and then they surround them with some size and some shooters,” he says. “They’re a complete basketball team and it will take an excellent effort on the defensive end to make them take tough, challenged, contested shots–and some of them are going to go in, and we’ve got to live with that.”

The Little and Lady Dutch basketball games hosting Norwalk can be heard with Trevor Castle and Roger Dewaard on the KRLS2 stream at KNIAKRLS.com, with pregame at 6 p.m. from Pella High School.

Meanwhile, Pella Christian’s boys are hoping to reverse their fortunes in the middle of a six-game losing streak, while the girls are trying to bounce back against a top-ten team in Class 5A in Indianola. Both teams were swept when the teams met the first time this season, with the Eagles girls losing 49-29 and the boys dropping a 50-43 contest to the Indians.

Coverage from Eagle Lane begins at 6 p.m. this evening, with Andrew Schneider and Mike Buchheit, on 92.1 KRLS.
