The Pella School Board reviewed their previous year audit at their regular meeting Monday.

Each year, the district reviews the previous year’s finances before looking ahead to the next budget. According to the report compiled by Van Maanen, Sietstra, Meyer & Nikkel, Pella Community Schools are in healthy financial shape, based on the 2017 final numbers. It cited prior cost-saving measures that ultimately helped bolster the financial position of the district, and also mentioned they continue to be well positioned to withstand future challenges.

Also, the board approved a foreign exchange student from Switzerland for 2018-19, and heard reports from each of the district’s building administrators. In closed session following regular business, they then evaluated Superintendent Greg Ebeling, which is required as part of his annual contract review.
