With the game tied at 45 and the seconds ticking down, Devon Dursky hit a shot as the clock expired to give the Pleasantville Trojan boys basketball team a 47-45 victory over Martensdale-St. Mary’s last night on the road.

Kyle Amendt led the team in scoring with 11 points, Dursky had 10 on the night, and Owen Worthington also had 10. It was a better performance than their last game against the Blue Devils, as the Trojans managed only 7 second half points en route to 23 total for the game.

On the girls side, the Trojans fell down early 23-4 after the first quarter and couldn’t recover from the deficit. The girls fought hard to bring the lead to just 6 at one point, but the tough Blue Devils handled the ball well and ran out the clock. Kelsee Van Haalen had 16 points to lead the team, while Jordan Dursky had 11.

The Trojan girls fall to 5-6, the boys improve to 8-2, and both will next play on Friday hosting Nodaway Valley.
