One of the personal goals set before the season for Pleasantville senior Kelsee Van Haalen, was to reach the 1000 point plateau for the Trojans.

Coming into the season, Van Haalen needed 271 points to reach that mark after scoring 197 in her freshman campaign, 225 as a sophomore, and 307 last year as a junior. So far through eight games, Van Haalen has averaged 18.9 points per game good for 151 of those 271, and the Trojans still have 13 games left to go in their regular season. To reach that career mark, the senior guard would have to average just 9.3 points per game over those remaining contests.

Individual goals aren’t the only thing on Van Haalen’s mind, after the Trojans posted sub-.500 record in each of her previous three seasons, there is one major team goal that the Trojans are looking for, a .500 record and another playoff win matching last year’s total. The Trojans will get back to action on Friday hosting Southeast Warren.
