The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

They received the fiscal year 2019 Marion County Compensation Board recommendations for consideration during the budget process in mid-February.

They also granted a request for the Senior Nutrition administrative offices to be relocated to the county property on East Main in Knoxville. Food preparation and serving will remain in the current location. The site coordinator will have a desk at the current facility. The move was made in part because of confusion that comes from the Senior Nutrition offices being housed in the same location as the Senior Center. Many patrons are not aware of the difference in the organizations, and Senior Nutrition staff are regularly asked to assist with activities or questions related to the Senior Center, which is not their responsibility. The Board expressed their support of the move in that they want county administrative offices to be on county property, and that they want county resources to be used appropriately. March 1 is a soft target for the move.
