January is National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.

As part of the Winterim experience at Pella Christian High School, students had the opportunity to take an all-day class to tackle the difficult subject. Students Sierra Pleima and Emma Kolb both shared with KNIA/KRLS News the impact the class had on them — and what they learned about trafficking and sexual abuse.

Both say they also had the chance to see what resources are available in the area for those impacted by trafficking, and how to spot someone in danger. Hear more about the Winterim Experience at Pella Christian High School in a two-part In Depth with Dr. Bob Leonard today and tomorrow on KNIA/KRLS.
