One thing the Melcher-Dallas Girls Basketball Squad had on its side this season was numbers. For the last few seasons, the Saints have had just enough to have a team and maybe a couple more girls to come off the bench. This year, the coaching staff was greeted with 14 girls, most of them freshmen. Coach John Suntken tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, it was nice to go five-on-five during practice and let the girls see what may happen in a game-like situation. The Saints finished 7-13 on the season and a 5-6 conference record, good enough to finish in a tie for sixth place.
