A Chariton man was arrested Thursday following a report that he allegedly forced sexual intercourse on a woman.

According to court documents, on Tuesday, February 13th, officers with the Knoxville Police Department took a report of a sexual assault that had taken place in the 400 block of west Pearl Street. The victim stated to police that 27-year-old Brandon Carroll of Chariton forced sexual intercourse on her. She stated that Carroll had picked her up and carried her to a bedroom in the residence and forcefully removed her clothing. She told police that she told Carroll she did not want to have sex with him but Carroll engaged in sexual intercourse with her anyway. On Thursday, February 15th, law enforcement spoke with Carroll at his home in Chariton. Carroll admitted to forcing the victim to have sex with him against her will and corroborated what the victim told officers. Carroll was arrested and charged with sexual abuse 3rd degree, a class C felony.
