After yet another school shooting in America Wednesday parents are once again asking if their child is truly safe when they head to school.

School Resource Officer Kyle Keller with the Knoxville Police Department tells KNIA/KRLS News the staff at the Knoxville School District has been participating in active shooter training since 2015. He says every staff member including cooks, janitors and bus drivers take part in the training to be more prepared in the event a tragedy strikes. Officer Keller says the district has continued to do the training every year and every time the training is done, something new is learned. He says lock downs drills have been conducted in the schools with some schools even participating in evacuation drills.
