The heavily favored Indianola girls basketball team got out to a quick lead and never looked back in a dominating win over the Roughriders of Des Moines Roosevelt Saturday night in a 61-23 win to start their postseason journey in a game heard live on KNIAKRLS.com.

In the first round of class 5A regional play, the Indianola girls turned a 16-5 lead at the end of the 1st quarter into a 39-7 halftime advantage. The starters played only a couple of minutes into the second half as Indianola cruised to a running clock victory. The Indians were led by Maggie McGraw who had 18 points, while Grace Berg put in 12. A rematch from the first game of the season is set up with Southeast Polk, with a trip to the state tournament on the line in the regional final coming on Tuesday at Southeast Polk
