The Little Hawkeye Conference season ends tonight as Pella welcomes Dallas Center-Grimes for a girls-boys twin bill this evening.

Both the Lady and Little Dutch are hoping to reverse their fortunes against the Fillies and Mustangs. Pella lost a late lead in the close girls contest in Grimes, falling 52-51. Meanwhile, the boys are hoping to vastly improve on their effort against the Mustangs, when nine first-quarter turnovers fueled DCG to a game in which they lead most of the contest by double-digits. Head Coach Derek Schulte tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they can’t be out for revenge, but they will be extra motivated to play a better overall game.

“More than anything, we just want to compete,” Schulte says. “The last time we played Dallas Center-Grimes was probably the low point of our season up at their place.”

“It’s nothing about payback or anything like that, it’s just about us going out there and competing for 32 minutes.”

Coverage from Pella High School begins at 6 p.m., with opening tip at 6:15 on 92.1 KRLS. Trevor Castle and Roger DeWaard will call the action.
