The decision to head to Dordt College was an easy one for Pella Christian Senior Alex Huisman.

The future Defenders football player tells KNIA/KRLS Sports his family has a long legacy in Sioux Center.

“Ever since I was born, I was raised in a family that’s surrounded with the culture of Dordt,” he says. “My grandfather was actually the athletic director there for awhile so I’ve been very immersed there.”

Huisman hopes to contribute to a Dordt football team loaded with local talent, as Pella’s Lucas Warner and Reece Schnell join Iowa transfer Noah Clayberg and former Eagles standouts Levi Jungling and David Kacmarynski all on the fall roster. Hear from Pella Christian’s seniors moving on to play sports in college on tonight’s Marion County PM Sports Page and stay tuned over the next two weeks for features about those athletes.
