The just completed Knoxville Wrestling season can be summed up as record breaking. The Panthers set numerous individual and team records this season and sent two wrestlers to the state meet in Chase Bellon and Coby Meyer. Setting individual records this season were Joe Hollinrake setting the all-time wins record, and hitting the 150 win barrier, Bellon also tied the record for the most senior year wins with 43, and Coach Doug Hatch won his 300th career dual match. Hatch tells KNIA/KRLS Sports none of that would have been accomplished without the team he had this season. While the Panthers will graduate four seniors, Hatch will be greeted with a lot of young talent next season. He hopes the wrestlers returning for 2018/2019 will get some mat time in this summer at camps or just wrestling with each other in the wrestling room at school.
