Rivals Battle in Iowa Conference Basketball Tilt: Central Travels to Simpson College for Doubleheader

The Central Dutch women’s and men’s basketball teams travel just one county west to take on rival Simpson this evening in a doubleheader.

In their meeting in January, the Storm women extended their winning streak against Central with an 89-74 victory in Pella. The fortunes for both teams have not improved much since that contest, where Central is currently in last place in the conference standings, and Simpson has lost three in a row and sit in a tie for fourth place. The Dutch men answered every run the Storm could put together in their first meeting, with Central taking the victory 93-87. The game will be crucial in the Iowa Conference standings, as Simpson sits just a half game ahead of Central in fourth place at 7-6, with the winner have the inside shot at a home game in the conference tournament. The games tonight can be heard live on our KNIA2 stream, with Andrew Swadner and Cory Houser on the play-by-play.
