Travel may be treacherous over the next several days as multiple winter weather systems are in the forecast.

According to the National Weather Service, the next round of snow is expected late tonight and expected to continue into the early afternoon hours Friday. Total accumulations of 2-4” are in the forecast, with higher amounts expected in the northern and eastern portions of the state.

Another round of snow is expected late Friday night into Saturday afternoon, with an additional trace to 2” possible in areas south of Highway 92. The Iowa DOT and Iowa State Patrol both warn drivers that travel will be hazardous throughout much of the state over the next several days.
