Directors of both Marion County Senior Nutrition and the Knoxville Senior Center want to inform the public about the differences between the two agencies to reduce confusion among citizens who benefit from from both services.

Shelly Braley, director of the Knoxville Senior Center, tells KNIA/KRLS News how the senior center can help with common, everyday tasks ranging from activities with other seniors such as travel or games, to paying bills and doing paperwork.

Bonnie Stalzer, director of Marion County Senior Nutrition, says that while the program provides meals for the senior center, they have a much broader mandate to serve as they are run by the county, and have an operating budget involving county and state funds, as well as donations from those who use the service.

Both Braley and Stalzer want to remind the public, that while they have a close working relationship, they are two separate entities. You can find both agencies on the lower level of Knoxville City Hall.
