The annual Pella Historical Society Dutch Costume Exchange has been extended this year and begins today.

Pella Historical Executive Director Valerie Van Kooten tells KNIA/KRLS News the event has expanded to a third day.

“We decided to go to three days this year because we just heard from too many people who couldn’t make it on one day who begged us to open again so they could come, or who just didn’t want to stand in a long line and fight the crowds, so we’re hoping this makes it easier on everybody,” she says.

New Dutch costumes will be available for purchase this Thursday through Saturday at Scholte Church on the corner of East 2nd and Franklin in Pella. New or gently used, clean costumes may be brought to the Church today from 3:30-6:00 p.m., for sale by the group. Costumes should be on hangers, sized, and priced. Unclaimed costumes and money will be considered a donation to Pella Historical Society.
