Central College catcher Emily Walton was selected for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Leadoff Classic all-tournament team.

The three-day tourney was staged over the weekend and featured 32 of the nation’s top NCAA Division III squads. No. 21-ranked Central posted a 3-3 mark. Walton, who missed the 2017 season due to injury, made a noteworthy return to the lineup, hitting .400 for the six games against some of the top team in the country. She hit two doubles and a home run, and knocked in a team-high seven runs. She also drew a walk and had a .429 on-base percentage. The Dutch remain in Tucson, Arizona for the next six days.
