The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Monday night.

The council held a public hearing on the 2018 sidewalk contract, approved an ordinance amending provisions pertaining to sanitary sewer user charges for industrial businesses, and set a public hearing for Monday, April 2nd for the Youngs Park Improvements Project. A first reading of an ordinance was also passed clearing up the language of the City of Knoxville not allowing a waiver to be granted for sewer use charges. While the ordinance was in debate, the council discussed the possibility of amending the city code to allow a waiver to be granted if citizens have a grievance against their water and sewer charge in the instance of a leak or other similar occurrence, something that the city has never granted. The discussion was tabled.
