The Knoxville City Council discussed a potential change to the city code concerning water and sewer charges at their most recent meeting Monday night.

The council approved an ordinance clarifying language that the city cannot grant a waiver if a resident has a dispute with their water and sewer bill in the event of a leak or other similar occurrence, however, the council also discussed a possible amendment to city code in the future that would allow for a waiver in certain circumstances. Knoxville City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News he was directed by the council to find possible solutions to this situation, and to potentially look at other municipalities that have similar waiver laws concerning their water and sewage system.
