The Knoxville Food Youth Initiative program presented the Family and Consumer Science program at the Knoxville Middle School with a check for $500 yesterday.

The donation is targeted towards new ways to teach kids about preparing healthy foods. Verlin Goodyk with Food Youth Initiative tells KNIA/KRLS News this donation was a great way to say thank you to the school for allowing them to use their facilities in the summer. The Knoxville Food Youth Initiative program fed children over 2,900 meals.
