The Knoxville Library Change Drive came to a close on March 2nd, with the winning grades at each Knoxville School earning their rewards.

The change drive was a partnered endeavor between the Knoxville Library and Knoxville Community School District that involved students bringing in spare change to be donated to the Library’s expansion and renovation project. The third graders at Northstar Elementary enjoyed cookies and ice cream, West Elementary School’s second graders enjoyed a trip to the Knoxville Rec Center, and Mrs. Shayne’s advisory group at Knoxville Middle School and Mrs. McBride’s Advisory group at Knoxville High School each won a pizza party for today.

Connie Davids with the Knoxville Library tells KNIA/KRLS News the connection they were trying to establish with the students and the new library involves students in the elementary growing up with the new library and feeling connected to it, as they helped raise funds for it from a young age.
