Pella Boys and Girls Track Teams Begin Indoor Competition

Both the Pella boys and girls track and field athletes began their season last night at the annual indoor Little Hawkeye Conference meet at Grinnell College.

Athletes from both squads had some high finishes against conference rivals DCG, Grinnell, Indianola, Newton, and Norwalk.

Lady Dutch receiving 1st place included:
Kaeleigh DeWaard with a 38’2″ shotput
4×800 with Erica Halstead, Makayla Kruse, Ashley Blommers, and Caroline McMartin
4×400 with Emily Holterhaus, Roselande Vanderhoff, Elise Thoreson, and Annika Pingel 4×200 with Metsje Miller, Pingel, Thoreson, and Emily Vos
Vos also was first in the open 200 meters
Paighton Malek in long jump (16 ft 9 in)


McMartin and Kruse placed 2nd-3rd in the 1500 meters
Sprint medley finished 2nd
Holterhaus was 2nd in the high jump
Chelsea Jorgensen 4th in 800 Meters

Colby Van Gorp 4th in 400 meters
Mason Johnston 7th in 800 meters
Thomas Gauley 2nd in 1600 meters
Mason Huerter 4th in shotput
