Pella Schools will see big savings on their insurance in the upcoming budget year.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling says their self-funded health plan could see premiums drop sharply for employees, as was reported at this week’s board meeting. He says the move has paid for itself in the savings they can instead use for staff salaries and programs, which is especially good news at a time when most insurance costs and premiums are increasing across the country.

The Pella School Board will continue their self-funded policy as they begin budget discussions at their next meeting Monday.
