The Well Works Program aims to get those who have fallen out of the workforce back to employment.

Executive Director of The Well Jayson Henry tells KNIA/KRLS News the biggest priority is to give their clients a hand up and provide them with the skills they need to succeed. But he says another successful aspect of the program is helping major corporations with finding the employees they need during a time of record-low unemployment.

“We operate in a place where our unemployment is low, low single digits,” he says. “So you can look at that and say there’s not a lot of people out there to even pull from for some of these larger employers in town. The folks that we serve are in the 30 percent that are not participating in the workforce, so if you can tap into that labor and inject them into the community — what an awesome win for everybody–for the client we serve in getting the dignity that comes out of having a job, and for the local employers in town whoare looking for good people so they can continue to grow.”

The Well is seeking volunteers to help supervise the Well Works program. Contact Rich Kacmarynski at The Well to help with Well Works at 641-621-0164 or rich@thewelliowa.org.
