It’s as busy of a day as it can get for Pella Christian’s athletic teams, with all six squads scheduled for action this afternoon and this evening.

Both soccer teams have Norwalk on the schedule. The boys will travel to Norwalk to take on the two-time defending state champs, while the girls will entertain the Warriors.

The Eagle girls played their best match of the season in Thursday’s 1-0 upset of fourth-ranked North Polk, and coach Mike Buchheit says that they’ll only get better as the season moves forward.

“Until we have a better first touch and better depth with our players, we’re playing a lot of minutes. Each game our endurance is getting a little bit better, so our ability to play 80 solid minutes is only going to get better every game.”

In other P.C. action today – the boys golf team is at Beaver Creek for an LHC tri against Oskaloosa and DC-G.

Girls tennis hosts Grinnell.

The girls track team is at a meet at Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont that also features Pleasantville. The boys track team is at BGM, where PCM and Twin Cedars are also in the field.
