The Pella City Council is moving forward with adding a bike trail connecting the city to Vermeer Corporation.

City Administrator Mike Nardini tells KNIA/KRLS News the council has been working extensively over the past several months to connect a trial on the east side of the community. The option the council is moving forward with involves a bike trail along the west side of 240th place from Madison Elementary up to Vermeer Road. Nardini estimates it will cost the city over $410,000, with an additional $100,000 provided by Vermeer.

The project will begin this summer, with completion scheduled by the end of the year. Hear more about long term projects for the community on today’s Let’s Talk Pella.
