The Central College softball team swept a pair of doubleheaders this weekend, starting with two wins Saturday over Iowa Conference rival Wartburg as heard live on 92.1 KRLS, then taking down Westminster (MO) on Sunday.

In Saturday’s wins over the Knights, the Dutch rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win game one, 5-2, then jumped out in front in game two with a nine run first inning and won 12-4 in five.

Sunday followed a familiar script. Central again fell behind in the first game, trailing 1-0 before scoring seven straight and winning 7-2. They then won the nightcap in run-rule fashion, stealing a school-record tying 11 bases in a 9-1 victory.

Central is 23-7 overall and 8-2 in the Iowa Conference. They make the trek to Lincoln, Nebraska on Wednesday to battle Nebraska Wesleyan.
