The Pella Christian girls tennis team is off to a 3-0 start this season, with all three matches against Little Hawkeye Conference opponents, and a big key to the early success is newly formed chemistry in doubles.

The Eagles have won 10 of 15 doubles contests in victories over Indianola, Norwalk and Oskaloosa. Joining us Saturday on the Knoxville HyVee Radio Coaches Corner, coach Danielle Stubbs told KNIA/KRLS Sports that that record is even more impressive considering that none of Pella Christian’s five doubles teams played together last year.

“Getting to know your partner is huge in doubles. Getting a feel for where she’s going to be on the court and what she’s going to do is always helpful. And now that we’ve gotten three meets under our belts, I think we’re getting a little more confident.”

Pella Christian looks to keep its unbeaten record in tact Monday when they travel to Knoxville for a match with the Panthers at the Joel Tonda Tennis Courts.
