If you want to travel for over three hours to a season-opening soccer tournament, the least you can do is sweep the day and win the championship. That is what the Knoxville Boys Soccer Squad did as the Panthers battled cold conditions on the pitch to go three-and-oh on the day at the Fort Madison Invitational on Saturday. The Panthers knocked off Burlington-Notre Dame in penalty kicks in match one. The match was tied at two at the end of the two overtimes, and Knoxville won the penalties 4-2. The Panthers in game two dominated Danville 3-0 Darius Pipkins, Patrick Crawford, and Matt Brown all had goals. The Panthers saved their best for last in the title match blasting Holy Trinity Catholic five-to-nothing Pipkins and Brown got two goals each and Sam Wadle earned a goal as well. Goalie Wyatt Darnell had ten saves on the day. Knoxville is 3-0 and will host Carlisle on Tuesday.
