The Knoxville Music Boosters recently received a gift from Dawn Flattery, who was named as one of the eleven finalists for the Joan Kuyper Farver Spirit Award, to help pay for new instruments.

Flattery, as part of the honor, received a $2,500 donation to a charity of her choice from the Pella Rolscreen Foundation.

President of the Knoxville Music Boosters Shannon Cahill tells KNIA/KRLS News the donation was sorely needed because if we want the students to perform their best we have to give them the instruments to be able to do that, and only recently there was an incident with a broken instrument at a performance that brought to light how desperate the instruments were needed. The Music Boosters will have their next meeting on Tuesday, May 1st in the Middle School Choir Room.
