In a back and forth contest, the Central College baseball team squeaked out an 8-7 Iowa Conference victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University Tuesday afternoon.

Central (11-15, 2-8 conference) trailed the Prairie Wolves 6-3 heading into the bottom of the seventh inning before the Dutch rattled off four runs. Nebraska Wesleyan countered with a run in the top of the eighth, only to see the Dutch respond with the winning-run in the bottom half.

Junior shortstop Garrett Saunders went 3-for-5 with a run scored and a double.

Central is now 11-15 overall and 2-8 in the Iowa Conference. They’ll continue league play Friday with the beginning of a three-game series against Simpson College.
