Hopefully the weather will hold off for the annual Melcher-Dallas Track and Field Invitational today. The uniqueness about this meet is, it is not run on an all-weather track. However, that has not stopped the Saints from hosting one of best small school meets in this area. Saints Co-Coach Amy Stuart tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, the kids are ready to show many fans what they can do. One of the teams competing will be Melcher-Dallas’s closest rival, Twin Cedars. While the rivalry usually does not spill over into the “Olympic” sports, the Sabers still want to win every event they compete in. Boys Coach Aaron Allspach looks at tonight as a test meet for the Bluegrass Conference event later on since all seven teams competing are from the BGC.
