Winning is starting to be just like clockwork for the PCM girls’ track team, as they won their second meet in a row yesterday in their first home meet of the year.

Tied with West Marshall heading into the final event, the Mustang 4x400m relay team was not going to be denied and blew by the competition for the event and meet title for Class A. The Mustangs finished with 155 points in the six-team meet edging out the Trojans with 153. PCM had a remarkable nine events claim first place honors including five relay teams of the distance medley, shuttle hurdle, 4x200m, 4x400m, and 4x800m teams. Individual winners include Ashley Miller in the 100m (PR 12.89 seconds) and 200m (27.12 seconds), Payton Schut in the 400m (PR 1:03.40), and Margo Chipps in the 400m hurdles (1:09.57). Head Coach Bridget Martin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that any track fan would enjoy a meet that is decided in the last event and she credits the effort of everyone involved to pull out the win.

Pella was also in attendance and despite sitting a few Drake Relay qualifiers for the night, the Lady Dutch finished third with 105 points. Pella had a pair of first place finishes including Tirzah Wittenberg in the 800m (2:33.56) and Elly Cairney in the discus (107’8’’).

Pleasantville finished fifth with 55 points. The 4x100m relay team of Sam Entinger, Rae Speicher, Corinne Thomas, and Kasey Pelzer continues to impress placing first in 54.06 seconds.

Twin Cedars placed sixth in Class B with six points. Their top individual was Chloe Swank placing fourth in the long jump (13’2’’).
