Now in the top eight of Class 2A soccer, the Pella soccer boys continued their winning streak against No. 3 in Class 1A Gilbert in a 3-nil victory at the Pella Soccer Complex last night.

Head Coach Mark Solomon says Pella found it’s groove in the second half in a game made up due to weather, despite more physical and chippy play. All three goals were knocked in by Ethan Poulter, with assists to Soren Stelter and Reid McGinley.

Pella has won seven in a row and hosts its annual invitational Saturday morning.

The No. 4 in 2A Lady Dutch were unable to break through the No. 4 in 1A Nevada defense, and fell in penalty kicks to the Cubs on the road. Pella’s girls fall to 6-2 and look to bounce back at home in a conference showdown with No. 15 Newton Monday.
