It was a successful Thursday night in New Sharon for the Pella Christian boys and girls track and field teams at the North Mahaska Relays.

The Eagles boys won the overall event with a team score of 149, while the girls scored 125 and placed in 2nd by just 2.5 points to Montezuma in the nine-team field. Each team had seven events finish in first place.

Pella Christian swept the throwing events for both the boys and girls, with Blake Veenstra and Allison Van Gorp each winning the shotput and discus. Emma Kolb grabbed 1st for the second straight meet in the 3000 meters and Morgan Fopma won in the 400 meter hurdles. Noah Treimer, Alex Veenstra, and Bryant Agre took the top spots in the 200, 400, and 800 meters respectively.

The boys relay wins included the 4×100 and 4×800, while the girls sprint medley, distance medley, and 4×200 teams also were 1st place finishers.

Pella Christian returns to action at their annual invitational Tuesday on Eagle Lane.
