Even though they held back their full lineup with a large contingent of athletes heading to the Blue Oval today and tomorrow, the Lady Dutch were once again dominant at the Tulip Time Relays held at Pella High School Thursday.

Pella scored 160 team points, which included first place finishes from: Emily Vos in the 100m, Emily Holterhaus in the 100m hurdles, Paighton Malek in the long jump, Kaleigh DeWaard -with a 40 foot even shotput toss, and 4×200, 4×400, 4×800, and Sprint Medley Relays.

The Little Dutch boys also had another solid meet, with their 156 team points placing 2nd behind Mt. Pleasant’s 201 point day. Top place finishes go to Avery VanZee in the 400 meters,
Jordan Buma in the 400 Hurdles, Nick DeJong in the Shot Put, the 4×200, Sprint Medley, and Distance Medley relays. Pella was without discus specialist Kody Huisman, who placed 22nd at the Drake Relays with a toss of 140 feet 9 inches.

Pella Christian’s boys and girls teams each placed 5th overall. The Eagles’ Emma Kolb broke a school record when she placed 1st in the 3000 meter run, with a time of 11:06.50. Pella Christian’s girls 4×100 team also nabbed a top place finish.
